Hi everyone!
A few weeks ago I visited Debenhams to search for a new "going out" foundation, basically something that I could wear for a special occasion or a long night out that would stay on my face.
I was attracted to the Dior counter, I had never purchased any Dior cosmetics before so I was interested to try something new. Anyway a foundation soon turned into a massive Dior Splurge!
After using all of the products a couple of times I can now let you all know briefly what I think of them.
Dior STAR Foundation - This foundation has hollow silica beads which basically means when taking a picture with flash you will not get that harsh white bright face we all know about. I found this to be true, my skin did look nice on pictures and I did not have a white face and brown body. The coverage you get of this foundation is also really good with an easy option to apply lightly or to build it up. For me this is a really good option as a going out foundation, purely because it stays on and looks good in pictures. The only downfall which I personally don't like is that it has a fragrance which I can smell really strongly when applying to my face. But other people may this I just personally don't.
Dior STAR Concealer - So I thought I should try out the matching concealer to my foundation. Again this concealer is made to make you look good in pictures and I can agree that it does. I found this to be a face brightening concealer more then anything it makes you look brighter and more awake. My only problem with this concealer is I have dark circles under my eyes and they are not completely covered with this concealer alone.
Dior ADDICT Lip Maximiser - The thing everyone seems to want lately is big lips! and for someone with small lips like me its not always that simple to achieve. This works to plump your lips, slightly not drastically but still looks so effective. It also has like a cool tingly feeling on your lips, not to over powering and I actually like how it feels. This is such a sheer light pink colour that it almost looks clear so I apply this over any colour lipstick and can achieve the same effect. For a more natural look it also looks nice applied on its own. It provides so much moisture and I just love it! This is definitely one of my favourite products at the minute.
Dior Rosy Glow Blush - This is supposed to be a blush that changes to suit every individuals complexion. When you first apply it always apply lightly because the colour develops from a light natural colour into a rosy blush. This blush is lovely and really gives off a natural healthy look but I must admit I feel hesitant to apply because I know the colour is going to change. I don't want to walk out for the colour to change and be to much. I am always super careful when trying to get it just right so less is more with this blush I would say.
Dior VERNIS Couture and VERNIS top coat nail lacquer - I got this as a free gift after my purchases. I love how easy this is to apply, I love how it looks at first really looks like a shellac manicure. Sadly it chipped really quickly seriously within the first day It was chipped and I was careful so for such an expensive nail polish I wouldn't expect that. Like I said lovely at first but I would never want to go out and spend £18.50 for the full size after the results.
I was invited back to visit the Dior counter at Debenhams for a free mini makeover and to receive a gift. So a few days ago I went back in for a lovely makeover where I learnt some tips and tricks when it comes to applying my foundation and contouring. My make up artist used a sponge on my face called Backstage Blender (similar to beauty blender) to apply my Dior STAR foundation. I found that this blender worked perfectly! So I couldn't help but purchase one! They cost £12 and to wash all you have to do is put it into the washing machine!
The Free gifts I received were:-
Dior Show Mascara
Dior Prestige Serum
Dior Prestige Satin Revitalising Creme
Dior Satin Revitalising Eye Creme
Sample Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet
Yet to try any of these but what a lovely gift to recieve!
