Hello everyone!
So seeing as we are officially in Spring (although the British weather does not seem to agree... Freezing!) I thought it would be a great idea to have a look into my nail varnish collection and search for the perfect Spring shades.
I realised I have Sooo... many of the Barry M nail paints. I think this is because they are such good value for money selling at around £3.99 each, I believe they are just as good if not better then some of the more expensive nail paints out there. Barry M also sell such a wide variety of colours if you are searching for a pink nail varnish define pink! Barry M must have about a dozen maybe even more different shades of pink so it is hard not to want to collect and try them all.
I find Barry M nail paints to be kind off a hit-and-miss sometimes, the majority of the time the formulas are very easy to apply and have a professional finish, my friends have sometimes mistaken my nail varnish for shellac because it looks so nice. Unfortunately I have purchased a few that have been gooey and not as easy to apply I find that this is mostly in the darker shades within the gelly nail paint range. Overall I do love Barry M nail paints and I find all the colours listed in this blog post to be easy to apply and they all have a lovely finish to them! :)
If you are a lover of the Barry M nail paints like me then the Gelly high shine nail paints are an absolute must! The polish's claim to give you an "extra glossy finish" and I 100% agree that they do just that. I have had so many compliments from wearing these nail polish's they really do make my nails look like they have been done in a salon! The pastels in particular apply easily to my nails with absolutely no streaks! They are also so pigmented! I prefer to coat my nails twice with the polish however you could defiantly achieve a professional look with just one coat!
The Barry M silk nail paint also gives a lovely effect with a soft matte finish but still a lovely slight shimmer. Contrasting to the gelly nail paint the formula seems to be quite thin so I would recommend building up coats until achieving the perfect look. The quality of these nail polish's is amazing and although giving off a slight frosty finish I believe these colours would look so nice during the spring.
Although it was a tough decision to choose a favourite the Barry M Gelly nail paint in Dragon Fruit has to be the winner for me. Its just such a lovely shade of pink for the Spring not to light and not to dark just the perfect in between shade. The narrow dense brush just made the nail paint super easy to apply and the finish is just so pretty and shiny. I used two coats to achieve this colour but if you was going for a lighter colour one coat would do the trick!
For the best results don't forget to use a Top and Base coat!
